Indian government launch the prime minister’s research fellowship scheme for doctoral research. This scheme is name as the prime minister’s research fellowship scheme. Under this scheme government will provide financial assistance to students.
Students will be selected from Indian institute of science (IISC), Indian institute of technology (IIT). Also students will be selected from national institute of technology (NIT) and Indian institute of science education and research (IISER).
As a result students who have done B.tech and M.tech from these institutes can get direct admission in PhD in IIT and IISc.
Under this scheme central government allocated Rs.1650Crore for next seven years. Central government will select 3000 fellow in next 3 years. Government will allocate Rs 5500000 to each fellow every year. No doubt India has the many talented persons. As a matter of fact many Indian scientists work in abroad.
This prime minister’s research fellowship scheme will encourage many students to do work on their research. Scheme will also help to develop India with Innovation. Also the scheme will help to generate skills and ideas across many Indian training Institute (ITI) of nation.
Highlights of prime minister’s research fellowship scheme for doctoral research
The financial assistance will be given to 3000 fellows for next five years. All the financial assistance details are highlighted below: –

Therefore will government will spend Rs. 1650Crore on 3000 fellows in next three years. And Rs. 55Lakh will be spend on each one of them. In addition under prime minister’s research fellowship scheme for doctoral research Rs 2Lakh grant will also provided. However this is for the foreign travel and to submit research papers in international seminars in abroad.

Indian government will select the 3000 fellows from IIT, NIT, IISER and IISC. Candidates who are studying in final year or completed their B.tech, M.tech, M. Sc will be invited for direct admission in PhD in IIT and IISC.
Ministry of human resources develop this prime minister’s research fellowship scheme for doctoral research. And now the department will accept the proposals from students for PhD.
Furthermore each fellow student has to teach at one industrial training institute (ITI) once in a week. There are many ITI collage in India. Aa a result by teaching in these ITI by fellow students will result in exchange of knowledge. In addition to this prime minister’s research fellowship scheme will help in improving the condition of these ITI’s. Also the ITI students will get the quality teacher under prime minister’s research fellowship scheme for doctoral research.
